Couleur Café
Mainly a Cafe placeAbout Couleur Café:
Small, casual spot for light French breakfast & lunch fare, plus coffee & snacks.
I recently had brunch at Couleur cafe and I must say, the food here is consistently excellent. The coffee is fantastic, but the matcha is even better—definitely a must-try. The almond croissant was delicious as always, and this time I tried the kale salad, which was surprisingly good—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The portions are generally adequate, but I did find the avocado toast to be a bit too small for its price. Despite that, I'll definitely keep coming back for brunch. The overall quality and atmosphere make it a great spot for a relaxing meal.
I had a horrible experience at this restaurant and will never support this establishment again. Firstly, the waitress with the green hair treated me and my friend terribly. She was very unpleasant and had a grumpy disposition with us. She walked away without taking my order and gave me the wrong drink. Additionally, when my friend did not like her drink, she was unkind to her. Also, instead of putting my bowl on the table, she gave me my bowl from the corridor as if I was doing her a favor. I had to ask another waiter for more dressing because she never returned to check on our table. I noticed the difference in treatment because she did not treat the other patron sitting right next to us the same way who was Caucasian. To add insult to injury, my friend sent her dish back. Instead of saying “no problem” or inquiring about what could have been done to improve the dish, the waitress asks unnecessary questions about the experience. She never treated the next customer with such hostility and aggression. Additionally, when I tried to let the other server know how distasteful her service was towards us, he ignored it and did not apologize for her nastiness. I would advise African Americans not to support this establishment. As her behavior was terrible and uncalled for. Hopefully, this young woman will treat others of different races better. As you should not judge a book by its cover, every human deserves to be treated well, no matter their creed, color, race, or background.
Couleur Cafe has been on of my all time favorite places in South Slope for the past 9 years I've lived here. The food and drinks are always delicious, and the service is excellent, not to mention the cozy atmosphere. They also make their own drink syrups and dressings. I've hosted multiple private events here as well and they were all a success. This business is truly a blessing to our community!
I found this cute cafe and here's what I have to say about it. The Berry crape was delicious, very flavorful and sweet, It came with some whipped cream on the side, sooo good. I also got a nutella beignet that was do cute and really good. My dad got the eggs Benedict with a side of potato wedges. He also got this HUGE latte. It was like the size of my plate.
This is a long-time staple in the neighborhood when many businesses have shuttered… which is proof that this is a very good cafe. First, the croissants 🥐 are made fresh in the morning, I’ve been here early and have gotten them as they are warm and it’s incredible. Slice Test: see video of a fresh croissant being sliced with the crispy, crunchy flakes breaking off. You can’t get that with a stale, spongy croissant. Great coffee ☕️ and other breakfast items like quiche or more traditional fare if you want eggs and potatoes. There are healthy options like oatmeal or granola with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. Great place to take out-of-towners for a nice breakfast / brunch. Best to go early to avoid lines. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely little cafe with very attentive staff. The food was very tasty, I had the smoked salmon croissant and they did not skimp on the smoked salmon. Would visit again!
Beautiful cafe with really attentive staff, nice food and beverages, great decor/ambiance in perfect location. Beautiful ✔️ Coffee✔️ Ambiance✔️ Decor✔️ Service✔️ WC✔️ I love a comfortable space to go with friends for coffee and light fare, and this place is just right. It has a very warm, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere. The rustic/worn decor gives it a great urban cafe charm that feels like a great blend of Paris and Brooklyn. It is small and three of us were lucky to get a table right away. The staff is very mindful and keeps things moving rather efficiently. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food, a salad with salmon, an avocado sandwich, and I had the crepe with Nutella. The crepe was nice and perfectly not to sweet.
Ever since I went on vacation for the second time to Paris recently, I began to really fall in love with everything French. Visiting the Couleur Cafe in Park Slope was like visiting a cafe in Paris. It was very homey and inviting with a rustic interior and old maps of Paris on the wall. My main dish, coffee, and almond croissant for dessert was delicious. The place was packed when I visited it, which told me how popular it was to the locals in the area.
