Florissant City Diner
Mainly a American restaurant placeAbout Florissant City Diner:
Classic, unfussy diner with a handful of tables serving American standards for breakfast & lunch.
Been wanting to try them and we liked them. Great food and it was a lot, we ate off it the next morning! Good service, small place but stil)great. We will be having breakfast there again.
Cozy place, people friendly. Service was poor. Had to ask for everything. Served order and waitress left...no silverware provided. Cup of hot water was $3.00!!! I had ordered hot tea. No desire to come here again.
This restaurant is one of those places that aren't right off the main road. You need to know the area well to have knowledge of its location or you will need Google to show you the way. The morning I went, the place was busy and bustling with laughter and great conversation. We were able to seat ourselves and was abruptly waited on; not having to wait five to ten minutes while someone became aware of our presence like I figured would've happened. The waitress was easy going, warmly, and welcoming. She took our orders and delivered our food as soon as our plates were ready. I definitely recommend this place, especially if you're looking for a cozy, quaint, and small hometown like setting.
This place is small but it is a great place to get good food, good service and good music. You get lots to eat for a very good price. I really like how it's decorated too.
It has been about two years since we dined here. We used to eat here at least once a week when it originally opened (15+ years ago), and we lived 1/2 mile away but don't make it back in the area very often. Either way, today's experience was excellent. The service was great. Drinks were refilled when she noticed they were getting low. The food was excellent and crazy inexpensive when compared to other restaurants. I had a slinger (St Louis Original), and my wife had scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon, and my daughter had a cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger was 1/2 lb with two slices of cheese for only $6.99. I noticed another great ordered a pancake and it was the largest, most fluffy pancake i have ever seen. (Probably 12"-14" across and 3/4" thick) She definitely had leftovers! Highly recommend if you are looking for a good local diner that won't break the bank!
Stopped in because my husband was craving a burger. We just moved back to Florissant after living out of state for a few years and this place had good reviews. I figured it was good because of the tables were full when we walked in. We ordered takeout. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and the burger barely took the. 10 minutes to make. My husband said it was so delicious. It was so big that he couldn’t finish it, and he is rarely defeated by food. Cheap prices also! We got the Adam’s double bacon burger. Fries were well seasoned and nice and hot. We will definitely be back.
The restaurant is quite pleasant, the service is excellent, and the food is delightful overall. However, the French toast was rather disappointing as it resembled more of an eggy bread than the traditional French toast. It lacked essential ingredients such as cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and was made with thin, soggy bread instead of the usual thick slices. The dish ended up being bland and did not meet expectations. While I plan to visit the restaurant again, I will certainly avoid ordering the French toast in the future.
I’ve been living in Florissant for 19 years and finally was able to support the diner. The service was great and the food was awesome. They are very quick in the kitchen and will get you in and out. We had the vegetarian skillet and meat lover’s omelette (egg whites), with has browns and a short stack of pancakes. I must say that these were the largest pancakes I’ve seen in a while. I loved every bit of the food. It is a diner, so it’s rather small. I can see why this spot is a gem.
