Peppes Pizza - Ole Bulls Plass

I had been waiting to do this review for several months. When I came here at the end of 2023 to eat with my best friend, they treated us very well at this place and we were happy to see that there were some vegan options. The vegan pizza was delicious. The prices are the same as everywhere else in that area (it's not cheap, but they aren't super crazy prices either)

I have heard good stories about the place, but our experience was not too pleasent... Food's really expensive (upwards of 200kr for most pizza) for what you get. I enjoyed my garlic bread but my friends didn't enjoy their pizza (margarita & salami): really thin, tasted similar to what you get for frozen supermarket pizza :( The pizza for our daughter (kids pizza) was amazing though! So not too sure what to think of the food overall. However, all 3 of us felt stomach aches afterwards... I cannot tell for sure that it's only the food from peppes, but we're suspicious at least. The atmosphere and location is nice overall.

This is Norwegian “American Pizza” so any fellow Americans should be warned and not take offense. Expect to pay more than you have ever spent on pizza in your life. Chicago pizzas here have 1/10th the sauce, you have been warned. When they say THICK they mean it. I recommend the Italian thin ones if you don’t want to mess around. Pizzas are toppings on top of thick bread that’ll dry fairly quickly. As I look around everyone seems to be happy and enjoying it, maybe something’s wrong with me. Fundamentally the pizzas are not for me. I would never call this American pizza, despite this places best efforts to convince people it is. Everyone tells me this is more of a nostalgia place for everyone, so thats the appeal. Try it once just to tell everyone back at home honestly.

Strange place. It’s not an Indian restaurant, but the caesar salad has chicken curry. There is no sauce in a children's burger, only a bun and a patty. The menu says that children will be brought coloring, but the waiter did not offer anything. When I asked for coloring (we had 2 children with us), she brought blank sheets of paper and broken pencils without a sharpener.

the restaurant is big .. I waited more than 5 minutes for the waiter to come and let us set at the table, and when ordering pizza they were late in serving. The nachos was served quickly with cola , it’s delicious 😋

The restaurant is good. The pizza is delicious and the start is good. If you want to go to the restroom you need a code. So you have to ask a waitress for that code.

I decided to choose Peppes, because I could quickly eat a decent pizza, with a good choice, in a friendly atmosphere. Average prices for Bergen, central location if you find a moment when it doesn't rain, it also offers tables outside. Suitable for families and groups of friends for pizzas to share. Overall a valid alternative for lunch / dinner.

Get a window seat and watch the scene, all while sitting nice and comfy inside enjoying your food. Pepper has good plain food. Period. Friendly service. We really enjoyed our visit.
