Fave Oslo bakery conveniently located close to the city’s main shopping belt. Both savory and sweet goodies were enjoyable but particularly loved their cinnamon rolls!
Nice place to stop for coffee during our one day trip to Oslo. Staff are very friendly and busy with all customers.
I really like the cinnamon bun, it's very fragrant, with a soft and not overpowering cinnamon aroma. The same goes for the almond croissant. The staff is very friendly and explains each product well.
I somehow had this idea of comparing Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish cinnamon buns given each country’s fondness of this treat. Thus, I couldn’t missed out on the opportunity to try one in Oslo. After googling, it appears that WB Samson is a favourite for both locals and visitors. Being a chain, it was also pretty easy for me to find one near my hotel. The place was unfortunately full, so I had it as to go. The roll (54NOK) was interestingly the closest to what I would call North American version (more cakey and sticky with sugary glaze) in Scandinavia. Still not in similar league to say Cinnabon, however I found it way more manageable to finish one roll as it’s less overwhelmingly sweet. All in all, a pretty great roll.
There were quite a bit of these around but this seemed like the real deal. I believe one of the oldest of its kind they serve coffee and kanelbolle (amongst other things) this was close to downtown and hotels so always a lot of tourists getting their local fill. I got there early enough to sit and chill and enjoy this heavenly little treat. They really perfected the pastry and cafe experience. If you are downtown Oslo and see a W.B. Samson take a moment and order this.
Cappuccino was smooth and delicious. The unique pastry Skolebrød is amazing and if you are visiting Norway you must try it and you will have your mind blown. And the staff was super nice and friendly :D
A friend recommended this place to me. It's a bit expensive, but the toast was good and the baguette was amazing. The cappuccino was just okay. It's definitely one of the oldest shops, though it hasn't maintained its traditional decor. I'd recommend trying it once if you're a tourist 😁.
A delicious day in Oslo! So fresh and tasty! But buttom of the kanel was a little bit fatty, the rest was delicious! It is a small cafe but also very crowded. People were nice and the price was not too expensive. We paid 105 NOK for both of them.
