It's gimmicky, that's the whole point! The poncho and gloves are fun but personally they were insufficient to keep me comfortably warm - despite hailing from an area with colder weather than this walk-in freezer. The statues are well done and the drinks aren't bad. If you're not thick-skinned, you may find yourself chugging to get back out to warmer air.
Cool bar! Make sure you’re prepared for the cold cause it really is freezing inside! Entrance fee includes a free drink and free rent of poncho and gloves! You can dance and take lots of photos inside! Iced statues are inspired by Norwegian artists and culture. Staff are friendly and welcoming!
This place was so fun. This was our first time visiting an ice bar. Prior to our visit I always thought the idea of an ice bar was kind of dumb. My wife saw the listing for the Magic Ice Bar in a travel brochure at our hotel in Bergen and she was super excited to check in out and so I agreed. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They helped us get bundled up in our parkas and gloves and then we entered the ice bar to enjoy some of their specialty cocktails. Even the cocktail containers are made of ice. After a few cocktails and a couple of shots of tequila it was quite comfortable in the subzero environment. Also, love the cool lighting and ice sculptures throughout the bar. We would definitely visit the Magic Ice Bar again.
Came with a group of friends and had a good time. They loan a coat and gloves to make the experience better. We stayed about 45 minutes which was long considering the temperature inside. The employees were friendly. Definitely recommend the 2 drink package. The welcome drink is ok, but the second was much better.
Very nice concept, interesting and worth trying. The sculptures are very well made, but many are quite creepy and there's a lot of nudity - not ideal for children. The drinks were very good - not o very large selection, but certainly worth trying. Nicely served in ice glasses.
An apsolute must do if your in Bergen! The whole experience was so fun and the drinks were delicious! The artic crowberry drink you are given on entrance is lovely. We had booked a package which also included one drink of our choice which was really good value. We went in the early evening and it wasn't super busy which was great for admiring the sculptures but if you enjoy a busier atmosphere it may be better to go later!
It was a hot day so thought I would literally chill in here for a bit. I paid £25 to enter including two cocktails which thought wasn't too bad considering the average cocktail is about £12. Definitely one of those places to take pics with friends and post on social media but I was a solo traveller so spoken to the bar staff for most of it. The glasses were even made of ice too and you were given a thick poncho-type thing and gloves to keep you warm. Overall yes it's slightly gimmicky but I'd never been to a ice bar before and enjoyed the experience.
This place was a real disappointment - I’d never been to an ice bar and thought it would be amazing. Sadly, the inside of my own freezer is more interesting. The photos I took make it look good but it’s not. The venue needs to raise its game. Until then, it needs to be removed from the list of Bergen’s top attractions. Currently, it’s not worth the entry fee.
