The Mandel House

An excellent place to visit. Good food and a good experience to try Norwegian typical cuisine with a great view. Worth the travel from Bergen to this restaurant.

Really good atmosphere and service, food was of good quality and certain bites were wonderful, but the entire meals lacked a little something extra. We had the Jerusalem artichoke soup with crayfish where every bite with the crayfish was good, but all in all the dish was a little flavour less We also had the Entrecote where the quality of the meat could have been higher for the price and the sauce could have had a more flavour. The root vegetables were very well prepared, but I was wishing for something fresh in there as well. Steak was medium rare and cooked perfectly

Can really really recommend this place. All the food is absolutely top class, be it fish, a burger with fries or the many desserts. I assure you won't be disappointed, no matter what you go for. The staff is outstanding, extremely good service in all aspects. The furnishing and location also make for a lovely atmosphere. If you happen to be around here, give this restaurant a visit, it's worth it! A huge thanks to the staff, the cook and everyone else for making this a great experience. We're really looking forward to our next time around.

I was at the Mandelhuset with my company and I very much enjoyed my visit. We had our lunch in a new house that was created during corona lockdown. The employee told us that the whole village provided stuff to set it up and it is decorated with old memories if the former owner of the restaurant. A very nice room to dine! The staff was very friendly and the dishes were amazing. In comparison to all others i was served vegan dishes: main dish with silken tofu and asparagus, desert with a chocolate cake with molten core and strawberry sorbet. In my three days in norway this was the best vegan dish served to me - including the locations in Bergen. Please continue with serving such great vegan options! My wish: Please such options officially to your menu. Right now the menu on the website does not show anything in this direct and you hide your potential in this field :)

Best fish soup ever in Norway! Special attention to the raw materials, staff very nice and professional. The terrace with the sea view is amazing! Thank you, we ll come back soon!

Expensive but delicious! Both the beef hamburger and the deer burger are good, though I recommend the beef. Servers were very nice and helped translate the menu for us. Plus the view outside is really nice!
