Trattoria La Sorrentina
Mainly a Italian restaurant placeAbout Trattoria La Sorrentina:
Brick-oven pizza, panini & pasta are served in this casual Italian spot.
I’m leaving this review here because this is the second time it has happened. In the first order, I ordered a pizza and it arrived completely smashed, as if it had been thrown into the box. In the second order, which was today, we ordered a pizza, chicken parmigiana, a salad that arrived without the chicken, and a pasta dish—and absolutely everything arrived crushed, and to top it off, the pizza was missing. This place has great flavor, but unfortunately, their presentation is terrible, and they are not careful with how they deliver the orders. They need to consider the customer’s experience when receiving the food and put themselves in the customer’s position above all else.
This place has a great atmosphere and serves delicious Italian food! We ordered a large Napoletana pizza with added mushrooms for two, and also tried the Carpaccio di Polipo for the first time—absolutely loved it! Here’s a useful tip: the combination of anchovies and garlic can make dishes overly salty and hard to enjoy, but a squeeze of lemon does wonders to balance the flavors. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did. Buon appetito! 🇮🇹🍕
The service was impeccable, and the cuisine was exquisite. This establishment is one of my partner's preferred dining locations and has indeed been the setting for numerous celebratory occasions. I hold this establishment in high regard and wholeheartedly endorse it.
Had lunch with a friend recently. The service was very good. Super friendly and fast. The atmosphere was nice, a little crowded and loud, but nicely decorated and clean. I was excited with the menu choices. We had grilled baby octopus and the chicken, avocado salad. The octopus was displayed beautifully over large grilled zucchini, but it was very chewy and fishy. We didn't finish it. The salad was good, fresh, but I wasn't overwhelmed by it. The tomatoes weren't great and it was oily. Fresh bread was also provided which was absolutely delicious. I did see a lot of specialty pizzas at other tables that looked really good. I would like to try one of those if I go back.
Great service and food in spite of it being very busy. My wife and I love octopus and typically get it grilled but decided to go with the Carpaccio dish and are glad we did. It was phenomenal! We also got Linguine con Vongole, a pizza napolitana, and tiramisu. The Carpaccio was definitely our favorite followed by the tiramisu. Definitely recommend if you are looking for some great Italian food in the area.
When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. The restaurant was very busy and the service was good. My clients wanted this for lunch, and I ordered the margarita pizza for myself. The food was ready and I paid and left. When I dug in, the pizza was really tasty, and it was more than enough! I had a good experience.
Good place to eat and good service. Calamari had a right amount of batter and cooked well, not dry or chewy. Grilled octopus was done well. Mussels were tasty and not over cooked. Seafood dish was ok, not worth the price. Churasco meat was done well and tasty.
Absolutely blown away by this place! It's hands down the best Italian food I've had in New Jersey, and I can't believe I only just found it. Everything was incredible - the mussels, baby octopus, penne boscaiola, and tiramisu were all fantastic, but the b-line pizza is a must-try! Even with all that deliciousness, the bill came out to under $100. For this quality, it's an absolute steal!
