Restaurant Aster

The best fish soup we have ever had, by far, winning the gold medal at the Fish Soup Olympics. It's fresh, very delicate, full of flavor, and so far from tourist traps. Coming to Bergen and not going to this restaurant would be a shame, especially since it is located in a very beautiful neighborhood just 10 minutes from the heart of the city. Also to mention the extraordinary kindness of the owner and his team. An unforgettable memory. Damien

We booked the five courses set menu in advance and the food was really great! Well worth the walk from the more touristy city center. They also had a good selection of beer (and wine) as well as a good atmosphere. Highly recommended!

What a delightful find just a ten minute walk from the Moxy Hotel where we are staying. The atmosphere is fairly casual but the food is absolutely elegant. My wife and I were trying to avoid the massive crowds of Saturday night in Bergen center so wanted to stay a bit closer to the hotel. After scoping this restaurant out during an afternoon walk and later checking the online reviews, we booked a reservation online through their website, literally only two hours ahead of time (lucky us!). They specialize in seafood so that’s what we tried, the catch of the day for me and the halibut for my wife. Both were absolutely melt-in-the-mouth delicious. I’d strongly recommend this delightful, welcoming harborside establishment for those wanting a quiet, warm meal with friends or family.

Aster resturant is a hidden gem at Damsgårdssundet in Bergen👌. Absolutely recommended if you like fish. The sea view is amazing too and super friendly staff.

Myself and friend enjoyed dinner here very much so. Our waitress was friendly welcoming and knowledgeable. We felt most welcome. The food was 10/10 I had the catch of the day, my friend had cod we both would highly recommend. Warm and cosy. My favourite bonus was the extensive and varied non alcoholic drinks menu - this was nice to see and VERY Tasty. Thank you to aster for making our first night in bergen so special x

Everything about Aster was perfect - superb location overlooking the water / marina / the staff were SO welcoming, friendly and helpful with the menu but not overly intrusive. The food - fish soup (with an awful lot of fish!) and my mains - halibut - were excellent - superbly cooked with light sauce letting the quality of the fish speak for itself! And the Pinot Noir was spot on ! Can’t recommend this restaurant more highly. Wonderfully experience.

Had the loveliest meal here on our first night in Bergen. We checked into our accommodation late in the evening and practically stumbled into Aster at ~9pm. The kitchen had just closed but the chef was kind enough to make us a 3+ course meal — delicious scallops, creamy seafood soup, fresh steamed fish, and a tasty unique desert. The chef even came to our table to chat and offer recommendations for things to do in town. The entire staff is so kind, and we hope this new restaurant takes off like it deserves to. Can’t recommend enough!!
