About these terms

These Terms govern your use of Vibecheck (the "Service"), a venue-discovery web application operated by VC Technologies AS. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Vibecheck.

What Vibecheck is

Vibecheck helps you find cafés, bars, restaurants, and nightlife by surfacing the "vibe" of a venue based on publicly available information — its category, opening hours, ratings, photos, and customer reviews already published online and licensed to us by a commercial data provider.

We do not own or operate the venues shown. We are not affiliated with them, and we receive no payment for listing them.

Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for the security of your password.
• You agree to provide accurate information when signing up.
• One person, one account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, or republish data from Vibecheck at scale.
• Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or other security controls.
• Submit feedback that is abusive, defamatory, illegal, or impersonates another person.
• Use the Service to harass venue staff, owners, or other users.
• Resell or otherwise commercialise access to the Service without written agreement.

Information accuracy

Venue information is provided "as is" and may be incorrect or out of date. Always confirm critical details (opening hours, prices, accessibility) directly with the venue before relying on them. Vibe summaries are generated by software based on public reviews and reflect aggregate impressions, not editorial endorsements.

User-submitted feedback

When you send a "Does this match?" response or other feedback through Vibecheck, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display that feedback to improve the Service and inform the venue (where appropriate). You retain ownership of what you submit.

You confirm that anything you submit is your own honest impression and does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Intellectual property

The Vibecheck name, logo, design, and source code are the intellectual property of VC Technologies AS. Venue names, photos, and reviews remain the property of their respective owners and licensors and are used in accordance with the licence terms of our data provider.

Service availability

We aim for high availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where possible we will give reasonable notice.

Disclaimer & liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, VC Technologies AS disclaims all warranties — express or implied — regarding the Service, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others. On termination, the licence to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, governing law) will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, the country where VC Technologies AS is based. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Norway, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
